Week 18: Laughter - Adult Category

This week's contest theme at I Heart Faces is Laughter.

Here is my entry for the Adult Category:

This photo won Sixth Place in Week 18 Contest

I took this picture of Maria during her Senior Photo Shoot a couple of weeks ago. She laughed so hard for about 15 minutes that we had to wait for her to catch her breath before continuing with the pictures. This was one of my favorite shots from the day.

Photo taken along the Vardar River - downtown Skopje, Macedonia.

Week 18: Laughter

This week's contest theme at I Heart Faces is Laughter.

Here is my entry for the Kids Category:

Adria is one of the children who attends "The Future of the Family" kindergarten in Skopje. She has had so many struggles in her young life - a handicap that she has totally overcome, the financial situation of her family, etc. BUT she loves life and especially school.

She laughs a lot and this is a photo of one of those many times.

Week 17: HATS - Adults Category

This week's theme at "I Heart Faces" is: HATS

Here is my submission for the Adult Category:

This photo was taken this past weekend in Skopje, Macedonia. Maria is graduating from high school this month, and I took her Senior Pictures at a park near her apartment. Maria was 8 years old when our families first met. It has been fun to be part of her life, to see her change and grow into a beautiful young woman.

In Her Easter Bonnet

This week's Amateur category at "I Heart Faces" is Easter/Spring. Here is my entry -- "In Her Easter Bonnet".

Even though I have been taking pictures for almost 30 years, I have only been serious about it the last year or so. I have taken some on-line photography courses and read everything I can get my hands on - concerning "photography". So yes, I am still an AMATEUR & have never made any money for it --- YET!

I am playing around with a name for a "future" children's photography business (after we retire and move back to the States) in a couple of years. I just learned how to add a name plate to my photos - every new thing I learn is SO exciting.

I took this photo of Gracie a few days before Easter so that her parents could have pictures of her to take home for family and friends. They will be gone from Macedonia for several months. Her mother dressed her in this new Easter outfit - complete with a bonnet. She was born in January - here in Macedonia - so this is her first and only set of what her mother calls "real pictures". I was happy to be asked to take them for the family.

If you like taking pictures and want to learn more about photography & be inspired -- you need to look at this terrific site at I ♥ Faces.
